A few weeks ago, I headed down to Virginia Beach to photograph my cousin, Laura, and her fiancé, Kurt, in a sunrise engagement session.  I usually sleep through sunrise, but Laura — who also has the Smith super-curly hair gene — was awake at 4 a.m. so her hair could air-dry for two hours and be frizz-free.  Now that’s preparation for a photo shoot!  Here’s what a beautiful, autumn sunrise; two people in love; and perfect hair looks like…  Enjoy!

This is just Part 1!  There’s more to come from our park and lighthouse locations!

  • Laura - Stacy, These are AMAZING!!! You did such a fantastic job shooting these and editing these! I’m glad my hair wasn’t wild in all of them 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Nicki - WOW! These are gorgeous. There are several that are worthy of an extra large canvas print… how to choose?!? 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Bridal Portraits | Laura | Stacy Smith Evans Photography - […] When my cousin, Laura said she was considering bridal portraits, I silently screamed with excitement!  I immediately envisioned her white, lace dress against the red barn on her family farm and shots of her with Cheyenne, her mom’s chestnut horse.  My anticipation of the session grew as we celebrated Laura at family showers leading up to her wedding day, but a prediction of thunderstorms and heavy rain for the week threatened to ruin the picturesque day in my mind.  That would be problematic for a girl traipsing all over a farm in a white dress!  Thankfully, the rain only briefly interrupted our session and we were able to capture some lovely silhouettes in the living room during that time.  I love all these photos, not just because of the lush, green scenery and the fact that Laura looks gorgeous in every single one, but also because I was able to capture and share this special memory with my sweet cousin before her big day.  Congrats to the newlyweds, Laura and Kurt!
